solutions

i still think Keen is to far out there to be realistic. his idea about getting rid of all the amateurism is highly improbable. there are to many people and to many things to change. it would be to hard, and for everyone to become more professional would take alot of time. it would also take away a lot of personalized aspects of the internet. i think things are going ok the way the are, we are on a good path. also i don't feel that citizendium would work either because who is going to police who is an expert and who is not, what makes one expert worth more than another. i think he is just to crazy for me to read and believe.

kevin kelly

he talks about a lot of stuff. i think he is to out there for my liking but he says a lot of important things. he shows that a great deal has happened in only 5000 days. to me that seems like such a short period of time for all this to be happening. i like how he said all of our devises are just windows into this big computer. i wonder what it will be like in another 5000 when the web evolves more. i don't think though that the computer will ever pass the power of human mind. i think that is for now unrealistic. he is a very smart man but i don't feel that's possible at this point. i still cant believe the changes we have seen since the web first started. he made me think back and really reflect on the changes that i have seen.

web 3.0

i think web 3.0 is going to be something that will change the internet and interaction between people all new. we have made such advancements so far that i don't see why we cant grow our technology to be even bigger and better. like it had stated in the reading its becoming harder to advertise to people, people now don't have to watch the commercials on TV due to Tivo and other recording devises. i think things will become more interactive on the web and will resemble things from movies. everyone wants stuff to be like the movies so the companies want to make things like in the movies. i cant wait to see what the full web 3.0 will be like and further.

MY ILLISTRATOR PROPOSAL

I’m not 100% sure of what or how to show my project with wikipedia through an image. I think that I want my make an image that has wikipedia in the center and images of change and improvement on the side to show the work they have done for the site to make it better and more reliable. I am going to use Photoshop to blend the images and clean it up while using illustrator to change and maneuver the images. I envision the completed product will show that wikipedia is moving forward and becoming more legit.

MY WIKIPEDIA ADDITIONS

I added the section for “American Cuisine” to the Cutlet page and I said “In American cuisine a cutlet is most famously made using chicken. The cutlet is usually ran through a flour, egg and bread crumbs. They are then fried in a pan with some oil. They are used in several different meals”. I’m sure why there wasn’t a section for this page yet. Maybe it was just forgotten.

I also added to the section for “starter food” to the Ants-On-A-Log page. I wrote “This is a great starter foods for kids to learn making. It will get them working hands on in the kitchen and let them start building some independence in the kitchen. They will learn a simple and nutritious snack for them to make on their own”. most people don’t realize that it is a starter food for kids in the kitchen, it is even taught in schools. This was one of the first foods I learned to make on my own.

I also wrote in the McChicken page where I wrote about the McGangbang a sandwich that was invented by the consumers, “But in most areas it is not common for the person taking the order to recognize it by name so the customer just purchases the McDouble and the McChicken separately and puts the sandwich together themselves. Or most people don’t want to ask for it by name so they just order separate as well”. I have tried to order this sandwich by name at a few places and have gotten weird looks, it is better to just order and make it yourself I have experienced and heard from others who have tried it. It can be a very embarrassing thing to do when the person taking your order doesn’t know what your talking about.

question response

1) My partner and I believe that user-generated content is becoming more accepted because it provides realism and in some cases comic relief. The user-generated content is also making certain advertisements stand out such as the etrade babies. Everybody knows them because their funny. We do believe that over time user-generated content will get better. This won't have any effect on professional production because there are still a lot of professional production coming out and people are working hard on it.

2) The article that we chose was US Hockey Team Starts to Believe Again from the New York Times. We used the following tags for the article: Hockey, Olympics, Canada, 2010, Upset, Victory, Underdog, Physical, Advancements, Goals. We then compared this article to others that only had them tagged as US, Olympic, and Hockey.

3) Transparency is important in the social media because it is a company's goal or dedication to development a certain trust with the consumer on their brand, product, or whatever it may be. If the company looses transparency (such as trust, closure, and companionship) then it is very easy for false lies or a misinterpretation of the brand or product to go around. When that happens it creates almost a domino effect that could eventually hurt the brand or even the company. However, if the company is transparent from the start then it will be less of a shock if inside matters become exposed therefore giving the company and easier way at re-establishing itself. It is still more important in the offline world because it's the same with building a friendship among peers or trying to create a relationship with a partner.

full movie analysis

I liked the second part of the video a lot more, it went into better detail and showed how useful all this technology is. I love how the businesses have their meeting with the virtual people, they are fictional people in a business setting that work hand in hand to solve real life problems and business issues. I hope that someday I might be able to use or at least experience working from home with one of those meeting programs. It was weird how the whole office was empty and that it is usually like that, as much as it was a waste of money to build the whole thing the new technology has made it a lot easier.
As far as the whole gaming portion went I liked it a lot, I am a big fan of games and feel that there is something to learn from it. I used to play XBOX Live a lot and it was a way for me to communicate and hang out with my friends without having to be there. I used to talk to them while play and talk about relevant issues instead of just sitting there zoned out looking at the TV. I cant believe how much time though that some people put into the gaming and that they meet people that they go on to marry.
I think the movie showed both sides of the technology use very well. I think we will always have some dependence on the technology from now on but we can learn to harness our uses for it and use it better. I enjoyed the whole movie and it made me step back and take another look at my life and my technology use.

video reaction

The video was right in a lot of ways but I have to question some of it. I agree that a lot of people are to attached to their phones or some other technology. Its really taking over peoples lives. I felt that a lot of what they said applies to my life so I had to step back and realize that but I don’t think ill change my ways. Its working for me now so I want to stick to it.
I feel that multi tasking inst as efficient as everyone thinks it is and as they proved. I do feel though that you are getting more done in general, it might not be as good but your getting more of it done. I feel that if you multi task with responsibility then its OK but when you try to do to much at once it gets overwhelming. I think over time people will realize that and multi task more effectively.
